Happy Weather!

It's safe to say my kids are loving the warmer weather here in Newport. After a very long winter, temps in the high 60's are considered SUMMER! Spent some time walking around downtown, drinking iced coffee and eating cake pops in the park in front of Trinity Church.

The scenery here never gets old.
"Praise Jesus, the sun is out and I don't have to wear a jacket."
Probably the coolest kid in Newport. (Thanks Aunt Jeanne for my awesome shoes! hehe)

Cousin Weekend!

We were all so excited to have cousin Krissy and her family come visit for Memorial Day Weekend. My kids adore her babies, Mikey and Mila, and even though it was a tad chaotic at times with five kids 6 and under, we had tons of fun catching up. Laughing until we cried, drinking a lot of fun drinks, Amazing Racin' it to the water taxi, jammin' out to some 80's band, eating at a ridiculously over-priced historical restaurant, feeding starving goats, and picnicking in the rain at a topiary garden...good times and awesome memories made. Thank you Kristina for taking the time to visit us so many times in Newport...and for always, always, making me laugh!! Love you, baby cousin!
 80s music rocks.
We took a trip to Simmons farm the next day to feed the animals. Such a cute little petting zoo. For $1 you get an ice cream cone full of feed to give to the absolutely starving animals. They literally fought over pellets of grub.

After we flew kites at Brenton Point State Park along Ocean Dr.
Last, but certainly not least, we visited The Green Animals. It's a beautiful spot in Portsmouth full of topiary gardens and over 80 green animals. The kids loved it...rain and all. Didn't bother them a bit!
Mikey is hiding behind the branch...

 Sisters.
Ella was terrified. Madeline was not.

Pretty much my life when trying to take pictures of the three of them.

Winery Wednesday

What? Is going to a winery after dance class on a Wednesday at 10:30 in the morning wrong? Well then I don't want to be right.

One of my favorite days in Newport! So many laughs! We were the only ones there so the kids ran free in the tasting room while Jen and I sipped on some vino and realized maybe we have issues. Maybe.

After, we had a picnic in the grapes. Well they're supposed to be grapes. Winter literally ended like 5 minutes ago so the growing grapes season might have been delayed a little bit.

Madeline Update and the Zoo

We recently had Madeline's last pediatric cardiology appointment. Her heart is still 100% perfect. This appointment has been on my mind for awhile. Probably since September when her last one was and I knew this would be the appointment that could give her the all clear. The cardiologist let me know that in the future we will need to sit down and discuss Madeline's hospital stay with her just in case she ever has issues with her heart, and how it is very important she knows this was a part of her medical history. He, however, wishes he could give me more answers as to what happened to her last summer. I guess her illness will always be an enigma, but what a huge relief that she is happy, healthy, and definitely back to her spunky self!

So for her reward for being such an amazing little patient during all of the ultrasounds and echocardiograms I took her and Sam to the zoo for the rest of the day to celebrate.

My big girl

All in all...an awesome day.
