Santa Baby

We just received our dvd of photos with Santa from when we attended the Chickasha Festival of Light. Madeline LOVED the man in the red suit, while Ella was obviously miserable. She didn't hesitate to run and sit on his lap, but once there, she froze and was unhappy. But what she doesn't realize is the unhappy kids on Santa's lap make for the best photos.

Blades of Glory!

Right before Christmas we took a trip to OKC to ice skate. They have an outdoor rink and we thought Ella would have fun trying it out. I am not the best ice skater, but luckily Tom has had lots of practice having been on the Citadel Ice Hockey team...he definitely didn't appreciate wearing figure skates either that day. He was much better teaching Ella and holding her up than I was. That was a hot...cold mess! But I haven't laughed at myself that hard in awhile. Ella was smiling the whole time, but when I took her off the rink she politely asked to skate with Daddy again. Hmmm I wonder why? She really had a great time and it was fun to watch her try something new.

We spent a lot of time along the rails.
Or this happened.
And this.
We eventually hung on long enough for a few photos.
My cold little doll face.

Night time along the canal in Bricktown. It was really beautiful!

'Twas the Night before Christmas...

And the tradition continues with Miss Madeline...reading The Night Before Christmas with her big sister Ella. Merry Christmas from our family to yours.

The Bluffs

There's this beautiful area on post called The Bluffs. It's a great place to take photos. We took a few for my friend Jen to model her pretty little knitwear she made for the girls and for Tom. She's starting a knitting business so we were happy to help her out. After we finished taking photos we strolled on over to the animal area so Ella could see the giant turkey, deer, bobcats, and birds. Even though the temps were below 32, Ella could have stayed outside talking to the animals for hours. She may be a diva at times, but this girl sure does love the wild outdoors.

My name is Madeline...

And I like to chill. A lot.
God has blessed us with another sweet as pie baby girl. What more could a mom ask for?

Another comparison pic...

Madeline at 4.5 months old
Ella at 4.5 months old
Madeline
Ella
There are some similarities, but for the most part Madeline is changing too much to ever be mistaken for Ella as a baby! She has a tad bit darker complexion and is just a weeeee bit chubbier;) I can't wait for my friends and some of my family to meet Madeline in 11 days and to see how big Ella has gotten.

My big girl!

I know lately we have seen more of Madeline on here than Ella (I think so anyway) but it's not because I love Madeline more. That's silly. I love Ella more! Just kidding people. I love them equally. Anyway, it's because when I get the camera out to take a photo of Miss Over-the-Top drama queen bee, she puts her hand up and says NO PHOTOS PLEASE MAMA. So I respect her wishes...sometimes;) Madeline is just easy to photograph at this age and I know it will only be a matter of months before she's on the go and the pictures will start to lack.

Here she is, 4 months old, sitting up! She has impressed me with this milestone coming so early so now my expectations are of course extremely high for her. I will try to get her to walk the tightrope at 6 months old. Pics to never come. ;)

And sometimes she falls...
But gets right back on the...giraffe. Which she's obviously telling daddy she is entirely too young for.
Loves the pillow my mom made for her.

I have to say it was so much fun to have the girls playing together with Madeline sitting up! Hence all of the photos!

TGIF!

Hope you are as happy as Madeline that today begins another weekend!
