We walked the entire parade route, including through the Hwaseong Fortress and watched the Koreans cheer on the Americans. It was a pretty incredible day parading through this "walled city" and at the end of it, they rewarded us with a Bipimbap dinner at one of the restaurants where you sit on the floor and have to take your shoes off! Very interesting.
Getting his face prepped with glue for the adding of the fake beard
I am so happy they didn't have a little costume to fit Ella for this parade or I would have been getting a fake beard on my face. It's been years since I have seen Tom with facial hair:)I think I prefer them without the beards. I bet you all agree with me, too!
The Queen of the parade...we saw her throw a fit behind the scenes because her little chariot got a flat tire. I wish I got that on video. It was worse than one of Ella's little hissy fits.
The band and their beautiful clown 'fros.
Hmmm what could these guys be staring at??
Ohhhh it's Ella.

The big crowds
Our soldiers marching along
The Koreans LOVED the Americans and cheered, waving their flags!
As you can tell, Ella thoroughly enjoyed the parade.
I thought this little old couple were too cute. I loved her beautiful dress.
And this guy...well he was just photo worthy.
Tom and the poor Colonel who had to ride a horse for the entire 3 hour parade. He later told me his ass hurt.
The beard came off right after this photo. And not a second too soon!
Ella finally awake and eating Korean pound cake (which doesn't taste like it does in the states as usual). A little Korean girl handed her the butterfly headband. They love to give gifts.
Finally, dinnertime!
Our day that started at 8 am was finally coming to an end at 6 pm. Another fun adventure for us! If you would like to view more photos from the parade, click here.
