Irish Newport

Newport really knows how to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Since I just happen to be Irish, I absolutely love their love of my heritage. They paint the center line of the road green and paint giant shamrocks on the side of the street. They hang Irish flags and shamrocks everywhere. There is a huge parade. Bars open at the wee hours of the morning to get the party started as early as possible. It's literally an event in this city and people travel from all over to become Irish for the day.

And Tom chose to go away to Nashville for a guy's weekend during it. Can you believe that?

But we made sure to have fun. The kids loved the parade and having their very Irish grandma in town for it. My aunts from NY also came to RI for the weekend and we laughed a lot and drank way too much. All in all, a very awesome St. Patrick's Day weekend. (Yes, the Irish celebrate for weekends at a time).
Look at his auburn hair...he gets that from Tom's dad!

 Parade in the 5th Ward
 Ella and her buddy Ryan

One of Ella's classmates Madelyn came over to say hi!

So many bagpipers. But the sound never gets old.
 Flags of Ireland

 Irish Step Dancers
 Coolest float.

The Morgan Family in the parade!

 Traffic cop. Always dancing.

 Home...for now;)

Saw this bench on our walk to the car...thought it was cute.

I am almost certain Sam loved his first St. Patrick's Day.

We walked off some of the Guinness around the Fort
