Beach Day!

Mid-June was the first time it was warm enough for our little family to put bathing suits on our Casper-colored winter bodies and brave the surf and sand. There are quite a few pretty beaches around Newport. Gooseberry Beach was the closest to us, and it ended up being my favorite.  I think our girls could spend hours playing in the sand and running to the water to fill buckets for their castle moats. Sam, on the other hand, just wants to run. Run away. Run into the water. Run to other people's umbrella's. Run. Run. Run.

Tom and I take turns chasing him along the shore. As relaxing and peaceful as the beach can be...it's more like a workout for us. I know it won't be like this forever though. One day these babes of ours will ask us to drop them off at the beach to meet their friends, and I will long for the days that I spent chasing them on the sand, building castles, and collecting the perfect shells.
