One hot mama...

It's hot here. Reallllly hot. Like 110 degrees every day. I'm starting to melt. Just thought I'd inform you of that situation.

For all the moms out there, can you all agree with me that the new wardrobe after you have a baby is yoga pants and tank tops? And hair in a pony tail (hopefully clean but not always) and definitely a lack of any makeup. Who has time for such things? I'm seeing it more as a cleansing of my skin and a break for my hair. I never blow dry it or straighten it anymore so maybe it will start looking healthier:) Afterall, my 30th birthday is right around the corner and I'm all about taking care of myself suddenly!

I am excited to say that Madeline is growing BIG and FAST! We took her in for her 3 week appointment and she weighed 7 lbs 13 oz and was almost 20 inches long. Ella took 5 weeks to gain a single lb so her "little" sister is surpassing her growth chart quite quickly. Madeline is starting to reach and grab for objects, and is cooing more everyday. Unfortunately, she is slacking in the sleep department and I'm feeling a little sleep deprived. But it's all good. I know "this too shall pass". I'm just enjoying her being a baby and hoping time slows down...just a bit.

Sweet Sisterly love

Sassypants

Thanks Bridget for my kickin' sleeper!
Hanging out!
LOVE this.
Milk drunk..not me, Madeline (*note the lack of makeup and the hair in a ponytail and nursing bra hanging out. Geez I'm a hot mess. Focus on Madeline.)
Two goofy faces
She looks pretty tough, huh? I think she was pooping.
I believe something is wrong with this photo.
LOOK at the chunk!! SO exciting because Ella never had baby rolls!! Woohoo!

We went on a buffalo hunt in the Wildlife Preserve. Ella was her typical self posing for the camera.
First buffalo we encountered. Later it was literally walking the double yellow and I could have reached out and touched it. It was SO close to us, my camera wouldn't focus to take a photo. It's a HUGE animal. I might or might not have screamed when it walked by. And of course Tom picked MY side of the car to drive by it.
We took a trip up Mt. Scott. We did the same thing when Ella was a few weeks old. Unfortunately, we have to take another trip because there was something on the lens and it ruined all the pics.

Tom took a few sweet shots of me and my little girl

Grabbing onto objects

Look at the little fluffy bunny tail

Thanks for checking in!

Week 2 with Two!

We survived another week as parents of two girls. Here are some photos to prove it.

We had to say goodbye to Gma Don Don...she had to return to work, but it was a wonderful one month long visit and we miss her!
Hmmmm who's in charge in this photo?
Love her
Ella used to crinkle her nose like this

Her Mr! Wake up...I'm slippingggg....
Awwww here's our first "baby" (Tom would totally disagree)
We said hellllllo to Granny P for the 1st time!
Her first bath and she really enjoyed it. Can't you tell?
Sleeping like an angel

For me

This post is more for me so I can remember to write it in the baby book later...

Madeline is...
3 weeks old and...
loves when Ella sings to her
lost your "cord button" on day 12
hates to be swaddled
isn't a huge fan of pacifiers
is starting to make sweet little cooing noises
doesn't like it when mommy eats spicy guacamole
loves staring at the birds and mirror on the swing
can fall asleep in the Moby Wrap like it's her job
and is growing entirely too fast!

Resemblance?

I think these sisters look a little alike. Madeline is the darker version of Ella. She was born with much more color as Ella was more peaches and cream.

Madeline's photos are on the left and Ella's are on the right:) Not the best pictures, but I'm trying to find ones where they are similar.

Busy Busy!

I know I have been a total slacker in the blogging department, but we had my mom here visiting for a month and then Tom's mom came to visit. I just wanted to spend as much time with them and as little time on the computer as possible. Please forgive me. But I'm back in business and ready to blog my little heart out. You'll be sick of me and all of my photos very soon.

Life in the Petrini household is anything but boring lately! We are all loving life and Madeline is quite the chill baby. She eats, sleeps, and poops. And cries. She's sleeping about 4-5 hours at night, waking 2x to feed. She's growing WAY faster than Ella did. I can't believe how big she's gotten in 2.5 weeks.

I asked my mom the night before I went into labor "How did you find enough room in your heart to love all three of your kids?" And she said "it just happens...your heart makes room. It was natural." And she's very right. It was an instantaneous love as soon as I pushed her out (or maybe that was just the relief of getting her the heck out!) My heart is happier than ever and the love I have for Madeline and Ella grows more everyday.
Photos from Madeline's 1st week
She looks so small with Daddy!

"Oh I have such a headache...that Ella could use a muzzle"
