July 10-
After traveling over 1800 miles, crossing over 11 states, drinking endless cups of hotel coffee, one hospital stay, one broken fog light (darn rock!), and the same question over and over "what state are we in?"...we made it to our new home. The beautiful city by the sea: Newport, Rhode Island. The drive over that final bridge into town was breathtaking. The girls were ecstatic and I cheered right along with them pointing out all of the sailboats and yachts and mansions. They took note of the lighthouses and beautiful water. I felt a little bad for Tom being in the car ahead of us and not sharing in the joy happening in our car at that particular moment. It was a truly happy moment. We made it. We traveled a long ways to be there and we rolled down the windows, cranked up Radio Disney and took in that fresh sea air. We were home. At least for the next year;)
