I'm baaaack!

Are you ready for me? I am back. I have a new look (well my blog does). Thanks to Jamie! She's awesome and I told her I wanted a new look for my little blog to get me to write more often and she made it perfect:) I highly recommend her.
I can't believe it is mid-March already and I am still blogging about February happenings. I am going to catch everyone up in the next few posts and then I promise (not pinky promise though) that I will be better with my blog.

On the first day of February we experienced a bit of a snowstorm. Last year we had an ice storm this same week (and I hated being alone with electric going on and off figuring out how to keep my Ella warm!), but this year it was pretty snow! I enjoyed it even more because Tom was HOME for it. He had off of work and I could send him out to the store for more snowstorm supplies. We ran out of ALCOHOL. Don't worry folks. Tom risked his life and drove out in the wild, blustery white-out and came home with essentials: Plenty of wine, beer and Skittles. We tried to play in the snow, but the majority of the time, the temps were below zero with winds of 40mph. He did drag poor Ella out there and she loved it until she realized her face was frozen and icicles had developed on her lips. She obviously didn't learn her lesson because she was out there that same night with her daddy once again throwing frozen snowballs.
Just a tad bit windy.

Pretty much the coolest snowman ever built.
My Aunt Bunny sent us one of those "build a snowman kit" things and Ella had been begging to use it and we finally got our chance!!

This is how we play in the snow in Oklahoma: with sand buckets and shovels:)
Ella loved throwing snowballs at me. And I threw them right back.
Tom built the girls a "snow fort". More like a snow playpen.

I love this little nugget so much!

Sitting so pretty in the snow.

Ground Control...

To Major Tom! hehe...Tom absolutely hates the fact that everyone and their mom has been singing that song to him since finding out last year he was promotable to MAJ. We are really excited to say he's finally been promoted. It was a nice ceremony and I was beaming with pride the whole time. Of course the COL made us kiss to finalize the promotion;) I am so proud of Tom. I know I say that all of the time, but I am. I remember after our first date and he brought me back to his house to show me a book about the Citadel and he told me he wanted a career in the Army. I was impressed back then that he wanted to go to a military college while I was looking forward to sorority life, frat parties and pretty much not remembering college. But he knew he needed a bit of discipline to be successful. I guess he made the right decision. You amaze me, babe! Thank you for taking such good care of us!
Slapping that new rank on!
Tom's brother Chris and his family
Ella smiled, but only because we promised her a Slurpee.
Madeline was totally enthralled with the COL while he was speaking about her daddy. (and how CUTE is she holding onto his beret?)
Congratulations Major Dad;)

Ummm Hi February.

Where did January go? Ours went by and apparently I forgot to post photos. Or update you all on how our family is doing. (Hard to believe March is next week). Here's a quick pic-in-review of January.
Lots of time posing for the camera because we were bored indoors. She looks so sweet and innocent in these two photos.
In the month of January, Madeline started to rock on all fours. Of course less than a month later she is ALL over the house. Getting faster everyday.
And one of the happiest, smiling babies I know. (when she isn't teething. Nightmare baby when she is teething, but her two bottom teeth arrived in January so back to smooth sailing)
Tom and I attended a wedding of a dear friend of his from childhood. Their friendship goes back 20+ years.
Monica, Me, and my MIL at the wedding!
My LOVE.
More indoor play and of course she has to play in her ruby red slippers. Did I mention she LOVES the Wizard of Oz?
Daddy had plenty of days off due to weather
Madeline has perfected standing on her own.
Just kidding. She wasn't even 6 months old in that picture. hehehe. But my camera is QUICK;)

We (and by we I mean Ella) wanted to test out Rapunzel's hair on her sister. I don't think blonde is really her color.
Being stuck inside means destroying her bedroom. Meet Hurricane Ella.
Aye! Aye! Aye! Madeline wants to have a fiesta!
Hello DJ Madeline Rock.
All in all, I was really happy to say goodbye to January.

Peaceful

I've had a rough few weeks and haven't been the happiest, but looking at photos like this makes my heart melt.

Something Blue

I am so blessed to have an amazing sister-in-law and even more blessed to be her Maid of Honor at her upcoming wedding next month. (I know I should be the Matron of Honor, but Matron just doesn't cut it for me). While home in FL, we had a fabulous bridal shower for her. It was a "Something Blue" theme and I think it turned out beautiful. My mom and I, my MIL and my bff Bridget worked SO hard on the details. We wanted everything to be perfect for her because she deserves the best. I can only hope we made her happy:)

Blue Murano glass wine stoppers were the favors

We also threw her a pretty awesome bachelorette party, but I don't need to blog about that;) Some photos of the decor are here!
All stationary and favor tags and signs were done by Devine Doodles! Love her work!
