Madeline "walkin it out"

A New York kind of wedding

And it was an amazing wedding to say the least! We all had a great time. It was wonderful being with my family and celebrating the marriage of my gorgeous cousin Kristina to her handsome groom Michael. I loved that they incorporated our Irish heritage with Irish step dancers performing and the NYPD Bag pipers. I loved the mini chocolate lava molten cakes served WITH the wedding cake and the mashed potato bar at cocktail hour was quite delicious. The Irish Pub they created to be an after party was a hit with my family-cigar bar, Long Ireland Brewery for a taste test, funnel cake sticks, soft serve ice cream..oh my! And did I mention I had a margarita named after me too? A Melissarita... Yeah I'd say this wedding was pretty darn fab-u-lous. A huge thank you to Aunt Sabrina and Uncle Tommy for watching the girls that night until 2:30 am! We love you and can't thank you enough! SO happy the girls behaved;)

Congrats Krissy and Mike. Wishing you many, many years of happiness...and a little league team full of mini Mongans!

I heard this sweet Irish toast in Sabrina's speech and thought I'd conclude my post with it:
May the roof over your heads be as well thatched
As those inside are well matched

Mama and Madeline

I told you I take a lot of self portraits. Apparently I want Madeline to know I DID hold her when she was a baby;) Here are a few of the little gal from my Iphone. Sometimes I send them to Tom during the day and he always claims it puts a smile on his face!

She sleeps a lot, huh?

Sunny day in NY!

The weather was gorgeous the whole time we were there (minus Earl trying to ruin my cousin's wedding, but it held out for us!) Ella loved swimming in my aunt's pool and outlasted Sammie, me and Tom in the pool. We were all tired and she kept on going! I swear she's part fish and could sleep in water.

It was so nice to have extra hands to help out with the girls. Such a relief for me! Sammie gave Ella a manicure/pedicure while Michelle held Maddie and put her to sleep:) I love my sweet cousins!

Anxious to get in the pool!

Madeline's 1st plane trip!

Here she is traveling at only six weeks old to visit family in NY for my cousin Kristina's wedding. She was an awesome little traveler and we never heard a peep from her for all four flights! She even learned to take a pacifier on the plane ride there:) It was definitely a bit more stressful traveling with two children, but at least Tom was with us to help. We always pick the earliest flights and even though we wake Ella up at 230 am to travel, she wakes up with a smile and is always excited to go to the airport! We flew by the Statue of Liberty and Ella couldn't believe it. She was ecstatic to see it (she has a small obsession with it bc it's on her states puzzle)! But when we landed in NY she asked if we were in China...silly girl;)

Somewhat smiling!

Love these

A huge thank you to our friend Miss Jenna for these adorable shirts for our girls. How perfect! Ella loves her big sister shirt!

Storytime!

I have a story for you. I find it humorous.

I decided I needed my hair highlighted last week because I'm a bridesmaid this weekend in my cousin's fabulous wedding in NY. I'm already feeling pretty low about my new "shapely" body and as any new mom can agree...downright frumpy! So I needed a little pick-me-up. Tom agreed to watch the girls so off to the hair salon I go. Thank god I only spent 2 hours away from the house because when I came home, I thought the house had been robbed. The living room was a disaster (thanks to Hurricane Ella) and both girls were not happy. Oh and neither was Tom. You would have thought I had left him for weeks with these kids. He was so frazzled. I started laughing when he began telling me all of his "woes" of the past two hours. "You wouldn't believe it...Ella was throwing a fit because Riley ate her hot dog, but yet she had an ice pop in her hand. She cried because I didn't want to play in her room anymore. Madeline started crying at the same time so I had to heat up milk for a bottle and the dog was whining to be let out. I barely had time to heat up dinner for myself, no less eat it." The list went on. I stood there staring at him like "uh huh babe. Yup." Who is he kidding? That's my everyday, all day. Men...sheesh. ;) I think he respects my job a little more now. BUT to his credit, he did watch the girls again while I went our for drinks with Callie and I came home to a pretty clean house, both girls bathed and ready for bed and a very happy family.

This was the smiling family I came home to:)

I think I have five photos with my Madeline so I'm forced to take self portraits

Happppppy!

Ella's Fairy Godmother

Did you know Ella has a fairy Godmother? Her name is Auntie Monica and anything Ella wishes for, she gets! It's amazing how that works. I keep wondering where my fairy Godmother is. I do have the MOST fabulous Godmother, Lynn, in the whole wide world...but I don't remember her buying me a Mercedes growing up. She did spoil me rotten (and still does!) I guess that's what Godmothers are for though! Aunt Monica came to visit last week and we had an amazing, but very relaxing time (she will probably tell you we ate way too much though!). She brought tons of gifts for the girls and I do believe Ella asked everyday "do you have more presents?" **hangs head in shame** I need to teach that girl more manners! We loved having you visit Monica and a huge thank you for being so wonderful to your nieces.

This is what happens when I'm doing the dishes and Ella is watching Madeline. Ella told me "look mama...Madeline is soooo cute now!"

Her new Benz from Auntie
Auntie wishing she could drive it

I think she LOVES it. Seriously, the rims are more sparkly than on my own car.
Daddy discovered the Moby Wrap (not bad for his first time!)
I promise she wasn't allowed to have the car out of park for this photo. Madeline, however, doesn't look so convinced.
At this point Madeline is probably wishing she was in her car seat.
How cute is this onesie my mom made for her? LOVE LOVE IT!! and her scowl cracks me up.
I think we know who Ella takes after.
Loving her nieces!
Another onesie my mom made. So talented.

Big bro, lil sis
Read my shirt and then look at my face:) Precious.
