Mother's Day

My Mother's Day was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing, easy day with my family. My husband brought me home yummy coffee (for some reason it always tastes better when we don't have to brew it ourselves) and then he made me a delicious breakfast. We played outside with the girls and drank frozen cocktails and got weird sunburns thanks to oddly placed sunscreen.

When we first woke up I was greeted by kisses from Ella and Madeline...and I jokingly said "Where are my flowers and cards and pretty wrapped presents?" (At this point Tom rolled his eyes and apparently mumbled that I had high expectations--we had just discussed the no cards at these things the night before)...well smarty Ella shot back with "Here are your flowers Mom...look outside!" She proceeded to open the blinds and point to the flowers we had just planted in the garden the day prior. Niiiice. Outsmarted by my three year old. She also wanted to fly her kite that day and I said "There isn't really any wind today, Ella. I'm sorry." Again, she outsmarted me and turned on the ceiling fan in the living room. Love her. And her brilliant mind.

My day was more than perfect. We don't have many weeks left just the four of us before Tom leaves and I want to soak in every second I can as a whole family. These times are precious to me and I know they are to Tom as well. Thank you my handsome man for making it a beautiful day for me.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! I sure missed my mama and my MIL, but we will be home with them very SOON!

Iphone Update.

I always have my iphone handy. Not only because I am obsessed with it. But also because it's my camera 80% of the time. (Trust me, I have 3,447 photos and videos on my phone to prove it.) Oh and it's also that great piece of technology which my daughter watches bad things on YouTube with;) Here are just a few fun photos I captured recently:

This is my WILD child in the tub. What fun is it to SIT and take a bath when you can stand and jump out of the tub? YES, she did jump out of the tub and thank God I was right there to catch her.

This crazy bear contraption come to find out was actually stylish apparently (it's called a spirit hood!). It's really for adults and they wear the paws as mittens. Tom picked it up in Korea over two years ago. It's in the dress up bin and every now and then Ella takes it out. She used to be terrified of it.

We had Tom's brother and family over for one of the Lightning games...how cute are they with these girls?

Sprinkler Fun!

For some reason the weather here in Lawton has been unseasonably DRY. The rain Gods have decided to skip our city time and time again. I will never forget the monsoons we had when Tom first left for Korea. I'm pretty sure we could have swam in our backyard. Now all we want is a little rain...maybe I will have the girls do a rain dance later. Plenty of time for fun in the sun now and last month we broke out the crazy sprinkler and let Ella go wild in it. She's rather conservative though with sprinklers and enjoys Tom throwing her in them more than her actually running through them. My little diva.

Easter re-do

Yeah, I'll admit it: I re-did Easter this year. I'm crazy like that. We had such horrible weather on Easter day that there was no way the girls could go outside for photos and they had these beautiful dresses to wear...so Tom threw some eggs out on the lawn and we took photos before church! Whatever. Don't judge. You're just sad you didn't think of that idea. Anyway, here are some (a ton) of the photos.

Easter Rewind!

Just catching up as usual! Easter came and went pretty fast! Hard to believe last year Ella and I were spending it without Tom and this year we were whole again + one:) Madeline doesn't have a clue about the Easter bunny, but she enjoyed her Easter basket and trying to find eggs with Ella. It's a tradition in Tom's family to hide the baskets so I gave in and allowed the basket to be hidden. Ella found it behind the couch and it was fun to see how excited she was when she discovered it! Of course she noticed her My Little Pony "AppleJack" first and from there it was pure joy...even when she discovered toothpaste in there.

This video was really long, but I cut it down to save you from my annoying voice!

We went to the annual Ft. Sill Egg Hunt the day before Easter as well. Last year, Ella took one step into this hunt and had a breakdown. She couldn't take all of the kids running around and yelling. This year we snuck her into the older kids group and she LOVED it. She ran around collecting tons of eggs happy as can be.

It was a rainy day and she couldn't leave the house without her boots.
